The Fringe Festival 2009

The 15th Dublin Fringe Festival is set to pimp Dublin City with its annually packed line-up of contemporary performing arts. They’re back! La Clique returns to Dublin for one final run after a sell out 9 month residency in London’s Hippodrome. Winner of the 2008 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment, join some veteran La Clique favourites and lots of new, sexy, funny, dangerous and mind-blowingly outrageous acts ready to seduce Dublin all over again. And for the first time, La Clique Up Late – a cheekier, bolder and even more fabulous show starting at 10pm. La Clique’s melange of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary variety the show has taken the world by storm. Returning veterans from this international menagerie of the bizarre are Norway’s outrageously bendy Captain Frodo, the prodigiously talented and Queen-obsessed Mario Queen of the Circus, muscle-bound supermen The English Gents and of course, spectacularly sexy aerialist and bathtub acrobat David O’Mer. Among the Dublin virgins are Marawa, a virtuoso of the Hula Hoop and a demon on skates. Le Gateau Chocolat is an Opera-singing diva with a penchant for being wrapped in body-hugging lycra and a passion for laughter and The Skating Aratas bring their breath-taking high speed roller skating acrobatics to the round stage. Without doubt one of the world's most beautiful and hypnotic performers and fitting La Clique’s programme line-up like a sheer silk stocking, Erna Sommer brings her gorgeous fluid aerial poetry to Dublin for the first time. More special guests to be announced.
