Dublin will host a major European club final for the first time on Wednesday 18 May 2011 after the Aviva Stadium was selected as the venue for the 2011 UEFA Europa League final by the UEFA Executive Committee.
The new state of the art Aviva Stadium has replaced the old Landsdowne Road Stadium, which was the oldest sports stadium in the world. The Aviva Stadium has capacity for 50,000 spectators.
Dublin is looking forward to welcoming two of the top European teams to the captital in May.
