Details of the forthcoming Anna Livia Dublin International Opera Festival 2007 were announced. The 8-day festival is back and runs from September 2 – September 9 presenting the most Opera the city has ever seen in one week, under the direction of Artistic Director Dr. Bernadette Greevy. Highlights include: First Opera’s to be staged in the newly refurbished Gaiety Theatre in September following the massive government investment towards Opera and this venue. New title as Dublin’s International Opera Festival – positioning Dublin as a significant capital city of culture, crammed with events for everyone and at the eve of the festival season. New dates – running from 2nd – 9th September – kicking off the Dublin September festival season. New Programme – including work across the city in venues you would least suspect including shows and events that are free and suitable for young people. Presentations of Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti and The Pearl Fishers by Bizet at The Gaiety Theatre.
