Dublin City Marathon 2012
The 33rd Dublin Marathon will take place in Dublin City on Monday the 29th of October. In addition to all the runners, the Marathon attracts thousands of spectators who cheer on the competitors and because of this the Dublin race has become known widely as – “the Friendly Marathon”.
Or if you do not feel up to a full Marathon there is the Dublin City Half-Marathon which takes place in Phoenix Park on September 15th.

Dublin Tall Ships Races
The Dublin Festival Tall Ships Race takes place in Dublin City from the 23rd to the 26th of August. The first Tall Ship arrived on Sunday night in Dun Loaghaire early due to bad weather. The race commenced in St. Malo, France in early July and from there to LIsbon, then to Cadiz before arriving in Dublin later this week.
This year there has been tough sailing condition, with gale force winds and only 6 vessels remain in the race to Dublin Port.
The four day festival includes a number of fun events, in addition to the Tall Ships, with Bulmers Live Music Dock – bringing free music to Dublin beside the CHQ; a Family Zone – Out of the Blue on Grand Canal Square – with street performers and wooden games. An Urban Culture Zone – with boards, beats an bikes in Hanover Quay and Grand Canal Square. For more information on the event – Dublin Tall Ships Festival.
